I've never had to break in Timberlands before and I already have three pairs. These in particular though have really stiff tongues - so each step you take (especially on stairs, ouch) the tongue bites into your leg. I really like these shoes, they're in great condition and they're really cute, but I can't come home everyday with swollen feet. Try wearing thick socks until the tongue breaks in.
