We chose this hat mainly for the color and the price but we were not confident about the fit. We would have felt less apprehensive if the actual measurements were available. Luckily, it fit our 4-year-old with just a little room for growth (her head is on the large end of the spectrum). Here are the details of the hat we received:- Material: thick paper/cardboard, visible fibers (some little strands were blue but were not visible from afar), smooth to touch on the top and fibrous on the bottom- Form: molded/stiff- Measurements: * inside band = 21 inches *, brim width = 3-1/4 inches, front to back diameter = 14 inches, side to side diameter = approx 11 inches (because the sides are flipped up)- Lights: three clusters of red, blue and green lights on the points shown in the picture above; lights are very bright and cycle quickly- Packaging: wrapped in plastic, well padded, arrived intact without any deformities- Flaw: holes for the string were asymmetric by about 1/2 inchOverall, the hat is worth the price. Because of its material, it probably would not survive rough play. Would recommend for costume events and everyday dress-up.
