For the price these boots are awesome, sophisticated and flattering. Aside from the strong unpleasant plastic smell, which should fade, they look and feel pretty much like real leather, so they look significantly more expensive. The actual heel is also higher than it says - it is easily 3 1/2" inches taking into account the platform height of 3/4"-1", meaning the heel is about 4 1/2". Boots also run slightly narrow. Now I have to decide if vanity is worth foot discomfort, as I'm not supposed to wear heels this high due to my (dreadful) bunions. :( The circumference at the calves are somewhat wide. If you have narrow calves, beware. Mine are fairly muscular, and the boot makes my leg look thinner - even with a slight slouch the boot stays up perfectly. The lining shaft is nice - very warm and cozy. If you are looking for an synthetic leather inexpensive boot and you can handle high heels, these are absolutely for you. I got the black.
